The Latest Venture of LawMaster

Peregian Beach Surf Life Saving Club would like to welcome LawMaster as their latest Gold sponsor. LawMaster is the major sponsor of the Peregian Beach "Boaties" and as such the competition boat has been painted up with the LawMaster logo.

This year has seen the re-emergence of boat crews back at Peregian and has created a great deal of excitement within the club and the local area. A surf boat crew consists of 4 rowers and a sweep. The club currently has 3 crews, an U19, a masters and the Reserve grade, which will all row in the "LawMaster" boat at competitions. All crews will be rowing in the "Aussie Bum", Australian Surf Rowers League "Navy Series" and at the SLSQ State and SLSA Aussie titles this season. The State and Aussie titles will be held in March 2010, at Kurrawa on the Gold Coast which should provide great exposure for LawMaster and Peregian SLSC.

The weekend of the 21st November the U19 crew raced in the Navy series at North Burleigh and in their first ever race, WON! The boys are so excited that they travelled to Coffs Harbour last weekend to race down there, which they placed.

Our Latest Release is Now Available

Innovation comes "standard" in LawMaster's newest software release.

LawMaster, in accordance with our commitment to our customer base and our policy of keeping our software on the cutting edge of practice management technology, has released Version 10.4.3606.

This latest version of LawMaster contains more than 155 enhancements to our current system as well as the development of several new features including:

• Microsoft's new Windows 7 operation system is supported under this release of LawMaster.
• The Business Intelligence Module has been further refined to enable bench mark data to be migrated between LawMaster databases.
• The Litigation Support Module has been reinvigorated with a number of enhancements to improve overall functionality.
• Payroll and Personnel has been updated with a number of significant features which include: enhancements to superannuation reporting requirements, accrued leave based on actual hours worked, loadable tax scales & tax scales table; and back pay processing.
• Workflow Processing has been enhanced with a number of new statements and functions to improve your firm's automation capabilities.

Mystery Prize Winner

At the most recent ALA Conference, held in October at The Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove, LawMaster held a competition to test delegate's mettle on the basketball court. Enticing delegates with a Mystery Prize, valued up to $2,000, we challenged them to make the most of their three shots at the hoop - with each made basket giving them a key to the treasure chest which concealed our prize. The game proved to be immensely popular and we had people from every direction wanting to have a go and all keen to try out their unique styles. Underhanded throws, hook shots, standing with their backs to the net, one handed throws and of course the typical "front on" approach complete with a steely look of determination were all on display.

However there was only one winning key!

The lucky winner, Margaret Curran from Porters Lawyers in Wollongong, made all 3 shots much to her surprise 'I haven't played basketball since I was at high school'. Although she may not have played basketball in a while her skills came through for her and she has won 2 nights' accommodation at the Hyatt Regency Coolum including flights to and from the Sunshine Coast. From all of the LawMaster staff we wish to thank everyone for taking part in our competition and congratulate Margaret on her win.

The Beginning of a New Chapter

The staff at LawMaster would like to give a big thanks and congratulations to Celeste Magson, who has been with us since October 2005. Celeste has recently gone on maternity leave, expecting her first child towards the end of the year. We'd like to thank her for her diligence and hard work throughout her time with us. From all of us here at LawMaster 'good luck' and have a wonderful break as this is the beginning of a new chapter in your life. We will also be looking forward to meeting your "new addition" in the New Year.

Since Celeste will be otherwise engaged for the foreseeable future, we have a new addition to the LawMaster family in Shelley Pascoe. Originally from Brisbane, Shelley has been living on the Sunshine Coast for the past 7 years and has over 20 years of experience in the legal industry. When not helping our clients with support queries, Shelley spends her free time with her two lovely children at the beach, hiking in the hinterland, attending sports games and catching up with family and friends.
